Designer focus: Collette Dinnigan
When I was young I worked on Chelsea Green and every day at lunch I would walk the long way round just to look into collettedinnigan’s beautiful windows. Collette was born in South Africa and raised in New Zealand. She started out designing dry clean only lingerie and her background in this is evident in the delicate sexiness of her dress designs. Her first store was opened in Sydney in 1992 and eight years later she came to Chelsea where I used to love seeing the beautiful dresses in the window. collettedinnigan has been worn by countless celebrities and royalty on red carpets, weddings and beyond. As well as designing beautiful ball gowns, she has a wedding, children’s, hosiery and diffusion line. As well as family…what an inspirational woman!
