The LBD Edition

The Little Black Dress; the go-to staple for almost every occasion.. Whether its a Christmas Party, Work do, Birthday or even just a lunch, an LBD can be formal or informal depending on how you choose to accessorize. How to style:

1. Vivienne Westwood

This dress is great, its got versatility which is essential in an LBD. It can be worn off the shoulder for more of sultry evening look or pulled up to cover the shoulders to wear in the day. Pair with heeled boots and a little black bag for an edgy evening look or with black tights and over the knee boots for the day.

2. Nomia

Now this is an excellent example of a day-to-night dress. As you can see it looks amazing with a white polo neck underneath its pinafore style shape; chanelling that 'everyday chic' look. Pair with flat white trainers for a trendy daytime feel. To take this dress into the evening, replace the polo neck with a black sheer or lace long sleeved blouse for extra glamour. Or if your brave enough and 'dare to bare'- theres nothing wrong with a little side boob. If you've got it flaunt it girl! Pair with black strappy heels or opt for a red heel if you prefer a pop of colour.

Simple, yet stunning. This is sure to be an eye catcher, and definitely one to show off the waist! For the evening pair this dress with heels that have a touch of something special- maybe a slight glitz or iridescence to separate from too much of an 'all black' look. To wear this dress in the day, again a polo neck underneath could work well, or throw over your favourite knit and create the illusion of a skirt and top. For daytime add your favourite pumps.

The one shoulder style of this dress takes a normal LBD from plain to insane! (In a good way) With black stone embellishment detail along the one shoulder neckline, its the small details that make this dress so beautiful. This is definitely one for the evening and not the day. Pair with metallic heels and a little black bag.

You can't go wrong with a shift dress- complimentary pretty much any figure, this style is a popular choice for those who prefer a comfier option(great for a dinner party- no need to unzip those jeans after that three course meal). The top of this dress consists of sheer diagonal panels adding detail to this elegant design. This dress looks amazing with black heels or wedges; but if your not a heels kinda gal, opt for a metallic flat. To wear this dress in the daytime pair with pumps or ankle boots for a more dressed down look.
